Since the day I have joined here I am loving every moment of the time I spent in my office. My coworkers are the best in their field and extremely good at everything they do. The seniors are full of knowledge and always eager to share it with the people who want to learn. I am lucky that I got this job at a starting stage and will be able to learn so much.

I feel sad to see the way women are treated here. One of my colleague just had a baby yet she is made to stay after scheduled time just because our manager does not remember to get work done at the right time. This is really unfair.

At Abbot I have learnt that you can do good in life only if you are competitive. When I started working here I was amazed at how friendly all the people were and thought myself very lucky to have got a job here. This feeling vaporized soon when I realized that all this friendliness is just superficial and no one is ready to help you if you have any trouble. Instead they take the opportunity to show the boss that they are better and put you down. After two or three such incidents I learnt my lesson.

At Abbott I feel sad to see that the company is compromising its most important asset that is the quality of its products and being a long time employee here I feel very sad to see this happen. The management is becoming very profit centric and is not thinking about the future of the company or the present of their employees. We are forced to work for too many shifts without any prior intimation about our schedules. The management never notices any of our hard work and there is no transparency in the promotion system.

The company has taken up a new policy to hire people who are ready to work for less pay rather than hiring people who are really qualified for a job only because they will want higher salary. The result is that day by day the standard of output is going down which is very hard to accept for someone like me who has been working here for a long time now. Another strange thing is that the management guys are always getting rewards for their efforts and the general employees like me are being told that the company is making losses.

At Abbot Laboratories I got the chance to be part of some of the most egocentric people who only believe in the theory of ???it??™s all about me and my stock options???. The internal fighting I see here over business resources is unbelievable. One day I am told that the company is going to invest in hiring and expansions and the next day I get to hear that the company needs to outsource and freeze job requisitions leaving me totally confused. The hours of work that I am expected to do are also very frustrating.

It felt good for people like me to work in a decent medical device company like Abbott Laboratories. Here, I got good exposure to the major healthcare organizations and agencies in a global arena and increase my domain knowledge to a large extent. It maintains a standard global networking and also among its wide employee base. However, I found that the number of senior executives was not adequate to take up the responsibility of such a huge number of employees. I had a tough time maintaining a proper balance between my family life and work life as the working hours were too stretched and stressful for me.
