My days at Cisco were very tough and I had to work too hard. There was always someone to supervise and I felt totally suffocated. I cannot work in this way and I tried to talk to my manager about the situation. When he did not bother to listen I got out of there.

If there was ever any competition for blaming each other then Cisco employees would definitely be champions. No one here takes any resposibility for anything. If you have any problems you do not know whom you should talk to. The manager will blame his boss and so on. My teammates are also same.

I used to work in the main office but soon got disillusioned with the corporate system. The pay is good and there are some real good people to work with. But what I hated was that personal freedom was very much curtailed in the company. Our private blogs were also to be judged by the company! That and such issues made me leave my job.

I am just waiting to get out of Cisco and the moment the market improves I am going to get out. The place is becoming full of people who are least interested about technology and only think about making more and more money. The management people have a lot of favoritism going all around the place and only if you are buddy with them you will get promotions. I do a lot of hard work here but no one is willing to recognize that only because I do not suck up to them.

Cisco is not a bad place to work if you are young and ready to put your life at stake for the company. The people here are too self-centered and everyone seems to be running all the time with the only intention of getting promotions and raises. This means that I have no friends at work because all my coworkers seem to be under an impression that others are going to overtake them in this rat race. I hate to get up in the morning and go to work here.

The biggest problem that a once great company like Cisco is facing is due to its own management. I work at a senior post and I am ashamed to say that most of my colleagues have no idea about the technology we deal with. This means that many times good proposals sent by juniors get rejected mostly because that guy’s boss could not realize that the plan was really good. I feel sad to see that some very efficient people are leaving the company due to the lack of communication with the management.

Some of the people in the management level have been promoted solely on the basis that they have been with the company for a long time. It does not matter that they do not have the necessary qualities to lead the team. Cisco has what it takes to be a great employer but it is dead weights like these that will pull it down.

Cisco provides one of the most stable working environment in today??™s IT world. The pay is good and the benefits are also large. We have stock options as well as flexible working hours. The training I got here was also excellent and we have the best tools in the market to do our job. But I have to sacrifice quite a portion of my social and family life in order to stay in the company.

Cisco hires the best network professionals in the market but retaining them is a totally different thing. I came to work here with the dreams of doing some great projects and dealing with some cutting edge technology but all of that is lost now as I have been stuck with and incompetent manager and a boring project for the last two years. I have tries to change my team but that is extremely difficult here as most of the team members are trying to run away from their leadership. I feel the company needs to re-evaluate the people in leadership positions because most of them have become obsolete and are trying to cover that up by blaming everything on their juniors.

I love working at Cisco because I always wanted to be a network professional and this is like my dream come true. Cisco is one of the few stable companies of today and working here gives me a sense of security and helps me to focus totally on my work. The company also gives me the freedom to set my own schedules and even working from home is acceptable as long as the work is done properly. Cisco hires the best people in the business and it makes me proud to be part of a winning team.
