I have been with Google just after it became a rage in the market and not quite liking the changes that are going on. For started, the management is very much disorganized and promotions are not always based on performance or the capability of the person. The recruiting process is also not that good and since it is expanding rather fast, they are sometime taking in the wrong kind of people. My call to the management is wake up before it is too late.

In my opinion the company is growing too fast and there is a tendency to hire more and more people who are far below the standard of the existing employees creating a misbalance in the working atmosphere. Also it seems that all this advancement has gone to the head of my manager who has suddenly stopped giving any positive reviews of my work and treating some of the people who suck-up to him with a lot of preference. Nowadays I have to work for very long hours while some people are allowed to go home early which means that favoritism is really taking over the place.

Google is one of the most famous companies of today and I feel extremely proud to belong to this great place. The people I work with are some of the most intelligent people in the business and it is a fantastic experience to work as well as learn from them. Google always ensures its employees are happy and I really like all the perks I get from working here like the medical benefits, the shuttle service but the free food simply tops it all. Being an engineer I get the chance and the freedom to experiment with all my ideas and visions here.

I'm just not getting the same kick of out of those as 2 yrs ago. And I'm getting the nagging fear that our innovation leadership is disappearing. We're not pushing the envelope like we used to. We buy these ad companies, but so? Maybe it's inevitable but I'm not feeling like the cool factor anymore.
Btw - the bosses aren't all that great here. A lot of arrogance. I don't like that.
