When a company is run by efficient people it is easy to tell that. I have the say feeling when I go to work at HP. There is no wor pressure yet every assignment is completed on time. We get the freedom to set our own time frames and no one is breathing down our neck. This allows a lot of flexibility.

The worst experience I had here is that I saw the management hardly cared when the recession was so bad. Me and my colleagues were always expecting some kind of employee meet where the high profile job holders will come and explain the situation. But it never happened. The management lives in their own world.

The company was good to work for but the recent announcement of Pay cut has not gone down well. Some of us and me also think that instead of cutting pays of deserving candidates, they should have cut down on some unnecessary posts. The company has become to big for its own good any way and this was a good chance to trim the branches.

I joined HP in the 90's and I knew right away that the company was not doing well. The employees were constantly stabbing each other in the back, the managers were mean and nasty and the pay and benefits were not that great. There was no direction, no focus, no leadership, no inspiration, and no vision. When Bill and Dave left, so did everything else.

After the acquisition of EDS there is a lot of panic every here and I am also worried about losing my job. My boss has still not made it clear to us about the job cuts that are sure to happen in the near future. I am so tensed I can barely do my work properly. In my opinion we should have an open discussion about this so that we can do our work in a relaxed atmosphere. If I am going to lose my job I would prefer to know it up front and not spend days worrying.

HP has grown as much as it could and now we are at a stagnant stage where nothing seems to be moving. The company faces no competition from anyone and the management is happy to be cushioned in this secure position. Nobody is willing to take up new challenges. Also the pay is much lower than the present industry standards and I am sure the company can afford to pay a little more. I am pretty frustrated and once the financial condition of the market improves I am going to get out of here.

I work in the PC division of HP and in my opinion this is one of the worst places to work for anyone who is really interested in technical work. The place is like a political warzone where the management people are busy trying to show how bad others are and never really checking if they are any good themselves. Most of the people come to office to pass their time and the flexi-timing has made things worse as most employees simply enjoy their time at home without doing any work.

Right now, the moral in our unit is very low because there is a talk around the office that it may be shifted to some other country to cut cost. That is what we have been hearing for the last couple of years. Jobs are being outsourced and there has not been a significant rise in the salary. Promotion is also hard to come by and being a small person in a big company can be frustrating.
