I have been working here for a long time and I feel sad to say that most of the guys who starte with me are now far ahead of me. This is because I am stuck with a Chauvinistic manager who will never let me proceed in my career. I have tried to get out a couple of times but changing teams is not easy.

We have been facing severe competion in some very important areas for a long time. Some how the management never paid any attention. I am shocked at the way junior employees like me are always asked to keep shut. Any questions in this respect are not welcome to the managers. Maybe they are realising their weakness now.

Despite the recession and talk of job cuts, our location has managed to do fine. There has been no major job cuts, only some under performing people where let go. In fact new recruitment was done in thier place! I just love working it here and feel I have better job security than others.

I'm very proud to work here at Microsoft. To me, working at MSFT is like pitching for . I feel like I made it to the ???show???. As a software developer, I have worked at a lot of different companies on my way to where I am today. I have been here going on 9 years and there is not many places I have worked at that that compare to the quality of people that I work with. The benefits are as good as they get. It is really nice to be able to work at the company that builds to software that I use to develop with. Sure you find someone once in a while that should be here and is a waste of oxygen, but you can find those people anywhere you go. For the most part, I work with some of the smartest and most innovative people in the industry. I proud to be able to call them my colleagues.

At Microsoft we are really having trouble concentrating on our jobs after the company management declared that there will be job cuts. Still now I have not received any such letter but I am concerned about my colleagues with whom I have worked for a long time now. I know that the market condition is bad but somehow I felt that a big company like us would never face any problems. The people who run this company should have been more alert and took the necessary steps which would have helped us now.

Unfortunately we're still stuck in the old PC era. Despite multiple restarts, the Internet/SaaS side is going nowhere. Ray hasn't delivered much and steveb is still confused what to do. Lots of infighting and little traction. We talk about the magic of software+services but haven't delivered much.
Luckily the Win and Office businesses continue producing loads of cash - otherwise we'd be in real trouble.
The comp and benefits are reasonable, though I wouldn't call salary+bonus anything out of the ordinary.
To sum it, this place is feeling more and more like an old company; certainly not the growth company it used to be. And I don't see us cracking the code in SaaS anytime soon.

Everything is great at Microsoft if you never expect any future for yourself. My manager is pretty happy with me most of the time but the moment I ask for a raise he starts sulking and tells me I am useless. The strange thing is that his pay is increasing every year though me and my other team members do the real work. There are too many managers. Most of us are stuck between the backbiting of these managers. The company really does not live up to its fame.

I joined Microsoft with stars in my eyes and initially the place kind of mesmerized me and it felt great to tell people I work here. Sadly my happiness balloon burst pretty soon and I realized that this place is really nothing like it is hyped to be. To be very honest politics is the name of the game here and most of my coworkers are more interested in pleasing their bosses than doing their work. I work under a nice guy and he tried his best to get work for us and sees to it that we get positive feedbacks. But I really feel sorry to see the effort he has to put to get things done.

I have been with Microsoft for quite a time now and I regret to say that the politics and back biting is reaching an alarming level. Since this is a big company, getting promotion can be tough. But what I hate is that you have to know the right people and pull the right string to get that promotion and not hard work.

It is an honor to work for Microsoft. It is one of the leading MNC in the world and the pay packages we receive here as well as the benefits are befitting to the name of the company. Yeah I admit that at times, work can be little longer than the average 9 to 5 routine but the challenge of the job makes it worthy. But it will be better for the senior management if they keep in touch with the people in the lower ranks so that good people do not leave due to lack of recognition.
