When the recession started and all the financial companies were hit it scared me totally. It was like a nightmare where one day I would find myself without a job and my whole life will crumble. I was worried about my wife and kids. Somehow the days passed and I am getting my confidence again.

With all the financial companies in a mess the atmosphere is very tense at Goldman. I go to office everyday dreading that there will be some bad announcement. It is very difficult to concentrate on my work in this condition and we spend most of our time worrying about the future. The management has been very supportive and constantly gives us updates about the condition of the company. This helps us to at least think that we won??™t get any sudden shocks.

revenue generating GS employee = probably worth the punishment.
non-revenue generating GS employee = GS robot.
average boss (mine; see my review) at best = any other company can suffice.
GS = life sacrifice compensated with money and brainwashing to the point of delusional smart people actually believe that this company is worth the time sacrifice, stress, and dealing with other people.

At Goldman the management has a tendency to keep everything secret and the employees are also not at all interested in sharing information with others which means that whenever I need any document I have to find it myself and no one will be willing to help. The management lives in its own world and never communicates with us which causes a lot of mismanagement in our work. The pay I get here is just enough and I wish someone will take a look at the benefits and try to improve them.

As an employee here I feel bad to say that at The Goldman Sachs Group there is no respect for people working in junior positions and we are always in the firing line of the managers. The work hours are back breaking and we are never allowed to work from home though most of the managers spend most of their time in office playing political games. The equipments we use here are practically obsolete and no one bothers to get new stuff for our use. I would feel little better if the company allowed us to work from hoe sometimes.

The Goldman Sachs is the most successful bank on Wall Street and the fact that in spite of the falling economy we have had no lay-offs makes me feel proud to be a part of this organization. The salary is also great and I am happy with the healthcare benefits including the 1 to 1 401k matching. Most of my coworkers are pretty efficient and smart. Well I have to mention that we do have to work long hours here but that is expected in such a big place and the company does give $25 for dinner after 7 and a car to take you home after 9.
