It may be hard to believe but Wal-Mart is one of the biggest companies of the world. I love my work here and enjoy every moment of the day. My colleagues are mostly my age and we share a great deal of bonding. In reality they are all my friends and I am lucky to work in such an atmosphere.

Wal-Mart is totally customer oriented and does everything possible to keep the customers happy. I am working in the sales division and my manager always instructs us that the customer should always be treated with top priority and we must always make sure that no one ever leaves the store dissatisfied. We always have training sessions to help us to do our job faster and better. The pay is not very good and sometimes I have to work very long hours. In spite of all this I like my job.

As a current employee I can only express my overall feeling of being stress out because of all the work that needs to be done and never having enough associates to get the job done. We have turned over 80% of the associates in the last two years. I wonder who is looking at this problem. Apparently not upper level management. There only concern is making their numbers.

Best Company to work for. At the store I work at they treat every associate with respect and has a solid foundation of making you feel safe at work. I cannot come up with one reason why I should feel negative about this company. It's great, give them a try.

Wal-Mart is a retailer. Most retailers do not pay as well as in other sectors. There is a real solution to getting better pay. If you do not like what you are doing then change your direction or change your job. Any company can improve, but so can a person. I have been with other companies and believe me, there are far worse. I have never understood why people think Wal-Mart is greedy. They donate more than any company in America and half the profits at the end or the year go to the employees. And the health care issue, it is everyones fault (Health care ompanies, lawyers, Insurance companies and we as patients), not any employers. At least give facts when giving opinions. But I forgot, the name of this web site is Employer Rap.

Working at Wal-Mart is a tough job because I have never understood what the management expects from me. I am a store manager and the upper management is constantly breathing down my neck to better the sales of my store. The problem is that they are never ready to listen to the problems I am facing and simply not interested in solving them. The thing is that we can give better results only when we have the proper infrastructure. Without solving the problems the management will never get any more output from any of the stores.

The best way to describe Wall-Mart will be to say that it is a huge company with a small heart and that reflects on the pay that we receive here. The company is growing every year but I am stuck with the same salary for the last two years. Another huge problem we face here is that the union practically opposes every new thing that is introduced here and that makes it very difficult to maintain the energy to keep on doing good work here. Sometimes I feel I am stuck between rude customers, overbearing managers and threatening union members.

The training I received on joining Wal-Mart was more like a disciplinary action than actually getting me trained about my job and the functioning of the company. From the day I started working here I feel like a slave because of the long hours I have to work and that has destroyed any chances of having a personal life. The company requires me to be on call 24 hours and that is not easy for a young girl like me. I have never got any proper communication from my manager and till now I am not sure what I exactly am I expected to do.

Compared to other prominent retail stores in the global market, Wal-Mart Stores offer a very unique ambience altogether. You can only get that feel once you??™re working out there. Right after I joined Wal-Mart, I really enjoyed the friendly people around the attractive employment benefit packages presented by the company. The seniors are highly talented and support me greatly to perform well. But after few days I can realize that the excessive work pressure and long working hours are very tough to handle indeed! Most employees shrink away for this fear. Moreover, I??™m unable to keep a balance between my work life and family life.
